Travel and Leisure published an article about Martha Stewart’s Travel Quirks. My biggest takeaway was that she totes along 3 iPADS when traveling – not a misprint, three! I immediately thought she must be traveling with kids however I was wrong. According to the article, she is always running out of memory due to her extensive traveling. According to Doug, who happened to sit next to Martha on a flight, she brings her own tea bags, will wake you if you snore and her dogs greet her in baggage claim.
- Ipad #1 has all her books downloaded
- Ipad #2 is fully downloaded with her favorite T.V. shows
- Ipad #3 is dedicated to her movies.
If you are traveling with kids you need to take a lesson from Martha Stewart. You need to make sure that they are well prepared in advance of the trip, as well as yourself. There have been many of times I have sat my butt down, put on my NOISE CANCELLING headphone only to find my flipping TV does not work, headphone static issues or the worst scenario, I was on a plane without TV screens (or no streaming of entertainment).
This is the ultimate travel nightmare, especially if it is a long flight. And I am sure all you parents out there can relate.
I suggest you get some of the IPAD energy that Martha rolls with and For the Love of God, do not forget the headphones or you will be entering a Category 5 Hurricane. Not sure if three ipads is necessary however load one with all your little one’s favorite movies and shows. I would pack an exterior battery as well in case the plane doesn’t have a power outlet. If all else fails you can break out some Playdough however be sure to clean up or you may show up on instagrams @passengershaming.
Now if all works out you can sit back and order yourself a glass of vino to watch a movie – almost like a spa treatment for you!
